Lesson Details
The sessions are for all abilities with technical, tactical and physical instructions, plus games, exercise, match practices and competitive play. The emphasis is placed on high level professional coaching, in order for the players to develop their talents to the maximum.
ASA normally coaches 4 to 6 students per coach per court. Most lessons are given on two or three courts next to each other to get the competition feeling and a great atmosphere. This normally encourages the students to feel part of a group and don't want to miss out.



Beginners :

Introduction of the basic tennis strokes, grips, footwork, hand-eye co-ordination, scoring and tennis terminology.

Intermediate :

Refining the basic tennis strokes, introduction to life drills and to matches singles and doubles.

Advanced :
Technique/stroke improvement, tactics how to win the match, mental toughness, game planning, tournament play.

Squad :

Every age group has it's own Active Tennis Squad. Children will be invited for the squad training according to their performance in Tournaments and Coaching sessions. The squad players have coaching at least twice per week. The top 2 payers in every age group will be discounted on their second coaching session per week.

Juniors :

4 - 6 yrs
These programs are developed to get the students hooked for the game. This will be done by tennis related games, rolling, throwing and catching the ball, hand-eye co-ordination, footwork to practice all aspects you need to learn tennis. Playing up the ball 4yrs 6 times max, 5yrs 5 times max, 6yrs 4 times maximum before hitting the ball over the net, to keep the rally feeling and lots of practice hits again and again. Hitting will be practiced between net and service line.

Duration: 45 minutes & Payments are per term.

7 - 9 yrs
These lessons will be based on fun tennis related games.  We will be working on hand-eye co-ordination, footwork and knowledge of the different areas on the court and the lines. We are decreasing playing the ball up before hitting over the net. Hitting will be practiced between service line and ¾ court. Playing up the ball 7yrs 3 times max, 8yrs 2 times max. Introduction to Short Tennis match play singles and doubles.

Duration: 45 minutes & Payments are per term.

10-11yrs:
These students play normally from ¾ court to baseline. Warming up, stretching, scoring, beginning of life drills. Student will be introduced to long Tennis match play singles and doubles.

12 yrs and older:                                                                                                                                 
These students play normally from the baseline. More advanced ball feeding drills than for the younger age groups. Introduction to top spin, slice, playing depth, racket head control, match play and match play situations singles and doubles. Focusing on the rallying skills, mental toughness, concentration, tactics, stamina and tournament preparation.

•Seniors :

Ladies mornings:
Group lessons on two or more courts at the same time. Starting with Tennis warming up, drills focusing on techniques, then life drills, tactics and game situations, finishing with matches and stretching and cool down. Afterwards we will drink coffee or tea and discuss the local gossip if you want to.

Duration: 45 minutes & Payments are per term.

Adult Evenings :
Group lessons on two or more courts at the same time. Starting with Tennis warming up, drills focusing on techniques, then life drills, tactics and game situations, finishing with matches and stretching and cool down. Afterwards a drink at the pool site or bar if you want to.

Duration: 45 minutes & Payments are per term.

Ladies morning and adult evenings are available in Beginners/Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced. These classes are normally attended from total beginners to tournament players and Tuesday afternoon ladies Spinneys league and men's Saturday evening Dunlop league teams.

Individual Lessons :
The best way to get specific advice about your tennis. Active Sports advice is to prioritize group lessons above individual lessons.

Tennis Camps :
In the school holidays we organize tennis camp. Normally from 9am-1pm in combination with our Sports and Activity Camps. A great way to spend your holiday time with your friends or to make friends.

Racket advice
The Active Sports coaches can offer advice regarding the ideal racket for you. Ask the coach for some try out rackets. They can help you with the choice of brand, material, weight, racket head size, length, grip size, strings and tension.

Restringing :
Our coaches can restring your racket and give you the best advice about your need of strings.

Cees Valk :
Cees is the Active Sports Founder and Director, he has been playing tennis since 1976 and coaching since 1985. He has numerous Tennis Qualifications from different countries and organizations. He has also attended and organized numerous Tennis Camps in his career including names like Stefan Edberg, Emilio Sanches, Nick Bolletieri and many more ATP and WTA professionals in Dubai Tennis Championships Kids Days. Cees is well known in Dubai for his long established, well known 'tiny tots' kids and school tennis programs.
